2011 Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair (GNOSEF)

The Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair (GNOSEF) was held on February 23rd at the UNO Human Performance Center. API judged the Senior Division of the Energy Category. The winners and their teachers were recognized and presented awards on February 24th.

The Chairman's Award went to Jessica Lawrence for "Are Dispersants A Good Choice for Oil Spill Clean Up?" She is a student at John Christian Curtis High School. She along with her science teacher, Cathy Boucvalt was awarded a check for $150.

The Distinguished Project Award went to Mitchell Hartley for "Absorbing Oil with Invasive Species". He is a student at John Christian Curtis High School. He along with his science teacher, Cathy Boucvalt was awarded a check for $100.

The Honorable Mention Award went to Christopher Brignac for "Synthetic vs. Non-Synthetic Motor Oil". He is a student at John Christian Curtis High School. He along with his science teacher, Cathy Boucvalt was awarded a check for $50.
