PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGIST

JOB TITLE: PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGIST
JOB DESCRIPTION: Production Technologists perform a variety of assignments in connection with assembling, computing and recording of basic oil field and plant data for use and/or interpretation by engineers. They prepare routine forms, tabulations, sketches, summaries, an related items form previously prepared material. They will assist in the preparation of information so that it can be put into the computer. Production Technologists assist engineers with tests, surveys and other field or plant work.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: A High School diploma is required to become a Production Technologist. Two or more years of post-high school training in mathematics and proficiency in the use of office machines (i.e. calculators, adding machines, etc.) is preferred. Average or above math aptitude a must. Basic computer skills.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  
ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES: A Production Technologist may advance through a number of more responsible positions. Advancement depends on the individual's job performance and ability to take on more difficult assignments.

Announcements

The API Delta Chapter Board of Directors have approved a donation to a joint LSU-UNO levee monitoring project in the amount of $7500. The API Delta Chapter supports this project to predict and prevent levee failures. We also support the joint LSU -UNO collaboration and training of students in the use of state-of-the-art Near Surface Geophysics technologies. The API Delta Chapter joins our sister societies in support of this worthy project. Information on the Levee Monitoring Project can be obtained in the accompanying presentation.
