JOB TITLE: LEASE OPERATOR - MAINTENANCE TEAM - OFFSHORE OIL & GAS PRODUCTION
JOB DESCRIPTION: Perform routine maintenance and assist mechanics making field repairs on reciprocating gas and diesel engines, gas turbines, reciprocating gas compressors, centrifugal gas compressors, positive displacement pumps, centrifugal pumps, steam pumps, diaphragm pumps, chemical pumps, and cranes.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School education; Junior College training in mechanics, armed service experience in engine maintenance, and experienced mechanics.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must take pre-employment test. Must be able to swim.
ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES: Lease Operators can be promoted to Maintenance Operator, Head Maintenance Operator, Maintenance Foreman, Production Foreman, Senior Production Foreman.
WHERE TO APPLY: Numerous major and independent oil companies. Independent geologists and engineering companies.

Announcements

The API Delta Chapter Board of Directors have approved a donation to a joint LSU-UNO levee monitoring project in the amount of $7500. The API Delta Chapter supports this project to predict and prevent levee failures. We also support the joint LSU -UNO collaboration and training of students in the use of state-of-the-art Near Surface Geophysics technologies. The API Delta Chapter joins our sister societies in support of this worthy project. Information on the Levee Monitoring Project can be obtained in the accompanying presentation.
