RECEPTIONIST

JOB TITLE: RECEPTIONIST
JOB DESCRIPTION: To perform typing and receptionist duties, may assist in other related duties as required and directed by the Administrative Mgr.
- Performs routine typing of forms, reports or correspondence.
- Receives customers, applicants, etc.; ascertains the nature of the visit and directs to the proper area or person.
- Operates a single or multiple position telephone switchboard; screens calls and directs to the proper area.
- May assist other areas with typing, filing, etc.
- Performs the primary thinking called for and encompassed by this overall job definition.
- Performs other related duties as may be required at the direction of the supervisor.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School education required and average or above average math aptitude.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires the ability to perform routine stenographical duties, including well-developed typewriting skills gained through schooling or work experience. The individual must possess good verbal communication skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Individual usually performs duties with an open office area during normal working hours with only light physical effort required. There are no travel requirements and job related hazards are negligible.
ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES: Can advance to other plant-warehouse jobs leading up to plant manager.
SALARY RANGE:  
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The Receptionist is required to maintain good working relations with members of the immediate work unit with contacts up to the hightest corporate levels. No external contacts are required beyond the greeting of visitors and callers.

Announcements

The API Delta Chapter Board of Directors have approved a donation to a joint LSU-UNO levee monitoring project in the amount of $7500. The API Delta Chapter supports this project to predict and prevent levee failures. We also support the joint LSU -UNO collaboration and training of students in the use of state-of-the-art Near Surface Geophysics technologies. The API Delta Chapter joins our sister societies in support of this worthy project. Information on the Levee Monitoring Project can be obtained in the accompanying presentation.
