The American Petroleum Institute's Delta Chapter is pleased to announce the 9th Annual Father-Son & Family Sporting Clays Tournament, which is to be held April 26th & 27th, 2013 at Covey Rise Lodge located in Husser, LA. The annual API Sporting Clay Tournament promotes friendly competition, fellowship and sporting clay skills to our oil field industry participants and their families.
Key Note Speaker: Don Briggs, President Louisiana Oil & Gas Association. Don serves as the President of Louisiana Oil and Gas Association (LOGA). LOGA represents exploration, producing and service sector companies operating in Louisiana.
The "Who Dat" Development - Evolution of a Project from Lease Sale to First Production. Rick Fowler is the Vice President of Deepwater Projects for LLOG Exploration. In December, 2011, LLOG exploration successfully initiated production from the "Who Dat" development in Mississippi Canyon 503/504/547. The Who Dat Project was named by Offshore Magazine as one of the top 5 offshore projects in the world for 2011.
The energy industry's fifth annual return to the Louisiana Children's Museum for their energy FETCH. Thanks to all of you and your society participation, this has turned out to be one of the premiere events for the Lousiana Children's Museum. As in the past, parents learn as much as the kids about our industry.
This past April, the API Delta Chapter celebrated its 8th annual Father/Son & Family Sporting Clays Tournament. Despite challenging industry and economic conditions, we had great support from our sponsors, shooters, and volunteers. 40 teams participated on a great weekend at Covey Rise Lodge in Husser, Louisiana.
Two Honored with Meritorious Service Awards: API-Delta Chapter recently joined with the Greater New Orleans Area Oil and Gas Associations to honor Matthew Wandstrat and Joe Leimkuhler as the 2011 recipients of the API Meritorious Service Award.
The Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair was held on February 29rd at the UNO Human Performance Center. API judged the Senior Division of the Energy Category. The winners and their teachers were recognized and presented awards on March 1st.
On the weekend of December 3rd 2011, the Holy Cross High School robotics team participated in the southern regional championships in robotics. The team was sponsored by the Delta Section of the API. Holy Cross sent a large delegation of students and finished 24th in the competition.
