API – Delta Chapter, and several other petroleum industry societies and organizations volunteered their time and/or monies to sponsor the BLAST/FIRST LEGO League Louisiana Championship Tournament again this year.
The goal of the API – Delta Chapter scholarship program is to help students of exceptional promise reach their full potential through education. Scholarships are given for a wide variety of experiences, career goals and higher education plans, with preferences to those pursing a career in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering, Geology and the sciences.
Under the umbrella name of PIPE (Petroleum Industry Promoting Education) energy industry societies sponsored the Louisiana Children's Museum's (LCM) FETCH Oil and Energy Saturday on August 16, 2008. Over 690 visitors participated in the event.
The Delta Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute, a non-profit organization headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, is pleased to support the rebuilding of the St. Bernard Parish Public Schools by donating $25,000 for the freshman science labs.

The 4th Annual Father-Son & Family Sporting Clays Tournament Sponsored by API Delta Chapter of New Orleans hosted over 6oo participants and guests on April 26th. The event was held in the traditional setting of Covey Rise Lodge in Husser, LA.
