Under the umbrella name of PIPE (Petroleum Industry Promoting Education) energy industry societies sponsored the Louisiana Children's Museum's (LCM) FETCH Oil and Energy Saturday on August 16, 2008. Over 690 visitors participated in the event.
The Delta Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute, a non-profit organization headquartered in New Orleans, Louisiana, is pleased to support the rebuilding of the St. Bernard Parish Public Schools by donating $25,000 for the freshman science labs.

This highly-selective initiative recruits the most talented individuals to drive the city's rebirth by boosting academic achievement for all students.
The 4th Annual Father-Son & Family Sporting Clays Tournament Sponsored by API Delta Chapter of New Orleans hosted over 6oo participants and guests on April 26th. The event was held in the traditional setting of Covey Rise Lodge in Husser, LA.
The Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair was held on March 15th at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. API judged the Senior Division of the Energy Category. The winners, their teachers, and schools were recognized and presented awards on March 17th.
The Annual API Meritorious Service Awards Luncheon was held at the Le Pavillon Hotel this year and was a great success. Two of New Orleans local geologists, Duncan Goldthwaite and Mike Fein, were honored on February 20, 2007 at the joint industry societies meeting.
The 10th Annual GNO Joint Energy Industry Association Luncheon was held in conjunction with PLANO on Tuesday, November 13th at the Royal Sonesta Hotel. This year’s speaker was Clancy DuBos, a well known local journalist and political reporter. Mr. DuBos is also the chairman, co-owner, and editor of Gambit Communications, Inc.
Thank you to all involved in helping to make the 2007 API Delta Chapter Golf Tournament a great success! We were able to raise over $26,000 dollars this year for education grants, scholarships, the Louisiana Children's Museum, and the other great opportunities our Education Committee brings forth.
